Terms of Service

Last updated November 2, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Tech Writing AI, LLC ("we", "us"), which operates Technical Writing AI (the "Service"). By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it; otherwise you must be of legal age.

1. The Service

The Service generates compliance, policy, SOP, job aid, spreadsheet and presentation documents using artificial intelligence, based on templates and the information you provide.

2. Your account

Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Team owners are responsible for the members they invite.

3. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service, including: using it unlawfully; fraud or spam; infringing anyone's intellectual property; interfering with security (malware, probing, scraping, or circumventing usage limits); reverse engineering; reselling access; or using it to create illegal content, deepfakes, hate speech, or malware, or attempting to bypass its safety controls ("jailbreaking").

4. AI output and accuracy

Generated documents may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for your prompts, for reviewing and verifying outputs, and for how you use them. Output is not legal, audit or other regulated professional advice and should be reviewed by a qualified person before being relied on for compliance purposes.

5. Intellectual property

We retain ownership of the Service, its software, templates, documentation and branding. You keep rights to the content you submit, and—subject to these Terms and payment—you may use the documents generated for you for any lawful business purpose. You grant us a limited licence to host and process your content solely to provide the Service. You must have the rights to anything you submit. Rights-holders may report infringement to us; repeat infringers' accounts will be terminated.

6. Content moderation

We may remove or restrict content, refuse or filter outputs, and suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Payments and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, renewal, cancellation and refund terms are governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms and our Refund Policy. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancellations take effect at the end of the paid period.

8. Service level

We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination you may request an export of your documents within 30 days, after which they may be deleted.

10. Liability

Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost profits, data or goodwill). Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it. You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, unlawful use, or breach of these Terms.

11. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, USA, and disputes will be heard in its courts. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
